EMVCo Merchant-Presented QR decoding for Colombia: full TLV parsing and EASPBV v1.4 field support, CRC-16 validation, lenient diagnostics, compact single-entry API and no shared-module dependencies.
A Kotlin Multiplatform library that parses EMVCo Merchant-Presented QR codes following the Colombian industry standard (EASPBV v1.4-2025) — the spec behind QR payments on networks like Redeban, Credibanco and the Bre-B instant payment system.
It ships as an Android AAR, an iOS Framework and a plain JVM jar (for Ktor/Spring backends) from a single Kotlin codebase, with native demo apps (Jetpack Compose and SwiftUI) that scan and decode real payment QRs.
val rawText = "00020101021126310014CO.COM.RBM.LLA0409@ocfrf115..." // from your QR scanner
(EmvQr.isCrcValid(rawText)) {
= EmvQr.decode(rawText)
.transactionDetailData?.transactionValue
.additionalMerchantInformationData?.transactionId
.merchantInformationData?.immediatePaymentKey
?.(ImmediatePaymentKeyType.ALPHANUMERIC_DATA)
}
result = EmvQr.decodeWithDiagnostics(rawText)
(!result.diagnostics.isFullyParsed) {
log( +
)
}
import emvdecoder
let rawText = "00020101021126310014CO.COM.RBM.LLA0409@ocfrf115..." // from your QR scanner
if EmvQr.shared.isCrcValid(rawText: rawText) {
let data = EmvQr.shared.decode(rawText: rawText)
let amount = data.transactionDetailData?.transactionValue
}
The full specification PDF (EASPBV-Campos-QRCode-EMVCo-Industria-v1.4-2025.pdf) is included in the repository.
📖 API documentation (Dokka) — every field documents its tag, sub-tag and the semantic values defined by the spec.
The SDK is published to Maven Central as three artifacts sharing a single version:
dependencies {
// Decoder only (raw text → typed EASPBV data) — Android / JVM / KMP commonMain
implementation("dev.code93:emvdecoder:2.1.0")
// Optional: headless QR reading (image bytes → raw text; ML Kit / Vision)
implementation("dev.code93:qrscanner-core:2.1.0")
// Optional: ready-made Compose Multiplatform scanner screen
// (camera + torch + gallery; ships the QrdKit umbrella iOS framework)
implementation("dev.code93:qrscanner-compose:2.1.0")
}
See the integration guide (with-UI and headless scenarios) in docs/GUIA-INTEGRACION-SDK.md.
For iOS you can also build the framework from source:
./gradlew :emvdecoder:linkReleaseFrameworkIosArm64 # iOS device framework
./gradlew :emvdecoder:linkDebugFrameworkIosSimulatorArm64 # iOS simulator framework → build/bin/
Follows the recommended KMP project structure with Gradle 9.5.1, AGP 9.2.1 (com.android.kotlin.multiplatform.library plugin) and Kotlin 2.3.21. JDK 17+ required.
emvdecoder/ Kotlin Multiplatform library (commonMain: all parsing logic)
qrscanner-core/ Local KMP module: decodes a QR image (gallery bytes) to raw text
via KScan (ML Kit on Android, Vision iOS)
qrscanner-compose/ Local Compose Multiplatform : scanner screen (KScan
camera + torch/flashlight + Calf gallery picker). Builds the QrdKit
umbrella iOS framework (exports emvdecoder + qrscanner-core)
androidApp/ — Clean Architecture + MVVM + Hilt + Compose
Navigation; uses the scanner screen, generates EASPBV test QRs
consumes the library Maven Central
iosApp/ — SwiftUI + MVVM clean layers; embeds the
Compose scanner gallery decoding via the QrdKit framework
(embedAndSignAppleFrameworkForXcode), CoreImage QR generation
Both demo apps share the same product: a 3-tab app (Scan / Generate / Settings) that decodes real Colombian payment QRs and generates spec-valid test QRs (TLV + CRC-16/CCITT-FALSE built in each app's domain layer and round-trip-verified against this library).
./gradlew :emvdecoder:allTests # all targets (Android host + iOS simulator)
./gradlew :emvdecoder:testAndroidHostTest # Android/JVM unit tests only
./gradlew :emvdecoder:iosSimulatorArm64Test # iOS simulator tests only
./gradlew :qrscanner-core:testAndroidHostTest :qrscanner-core:iosSimulatorArm64Test # scanner module
The suite includes real Redeban QR samples, full-coverage synthetic QRs built with a TLV/CRC helper, malformed-input cases, and the standard CRC-16/CCITT-FALSE test vector ("123456789" → 0x29B1).
